**Priority Groups** allow registration to be opened for a specific subset of users **regardless** of whether the class is in **Publish** or **Display Only** status.
Priority groups are configured to include users based on specific criteria, such as:
- Membership tiers
- User roles
- Custom-defined groups
- When a class is set to allow registration for a **Priority Group**, only users in that group can register for the class.
- Priority Groups can override the default registration behavior and allow selective access.
## How to configure a Priority Group
1. Follow the [[User Groups]] guide to setup and add users to a group.
2. Add the User Group ID to the "Access Groups, Comma Separated" field in a catalog set up page.
## Example Scenarios:
1. **Priority Group with Display Only**:
- A class is set to **Display Only**.
- A Priority Group (e.g., "Gold Members") is assigned to the class.
- "Gold Members" can still register for the class, while others cannot.
2. **Priority Group with Published Class**:
- A class is **Published** and visible to all.
- A Priority Group (e.g., "Early Access Users") is assigned.
- Only users in the "Early Access Users" group can register, even though the class is visible to all.
