# Guest Registrations in Art Center Canvas
## What is a Guest Registration?
Throughout the Art Center Canvas system, there is a general requirement that all activities be associated with an actual person or organization, such as for class registrations. The exception to this rule applies to **ticket purchases**, where any name can be entered as long as the ticket purchaser has an account in Canvas.
For other types of activities, casual registration may be beneficial. For instance, programs like "Date Nights" often require someone to register both themselves and another person not in their "household." Guest Registrations address this need by allowing an existing account holder in Canvas to register another person by name.

## Setting Up a Guest Registration
The availability of Guest Registrations is determined on a **class-by-class basis**. Follow these steps to enable it:
1. Navigate to the **Class Scheduling** screen.
2. Locate the **Allow Guest Registration** option.
3. Set the **radio button** to **Yes** to allow guest registrations for the class.

## How Does This Change the Checkout Process?
Once a class is set up to accept Guest Registrations, an additional option appears in the checkout process:
1. In the Cart, you will see a checkbox labeled **Guest Registration?** and a field to enter the guest’s name.
2. Check the box and type the guest’s name before proceeding with the checkout.
The appearance of this feature on public web pages will depend on your organization’s setup.

## Display of Guest Registrations in the System
From this point forward, the guest registrant’s name will appear alongside the primary registrant in various locations:
- **Class Rosters**: The guest’s name is displayed in rosters for the class.
- **Purchase History and Account History**: The Guest Registration is recorded in the account holder’s history.


In some cases, the guest registrant is denoted with an asterisk (*). See the images below for examples.
