This article is for scenarios where you are looking to withdraw a single registrant from a class. If you are looking to process partial refunds for all registrants see [[Cancel Class or Activity with Partial Refund]].
## Steps to Withdraw from a Class
1. **Access the Student’s Account**
- Navigate to the student’s account.
- Click on the **Purchases** tab.

1. **Locate the Class to Withdraw**
- Find the class the student wishes to withdraw from.
- Click on the **Drop Item** button next to the class.

1. **Review the Withdrawal Details**
- The screen will switch back to the **Cart** tab, where the withdrawal item is now in the cart.
- You can enter a **withdrawal/processing fee** if applicable. This fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
- For automatic assessment of pro-rated withdrawal fees, submit a support ticket to request setup.
4. **Process the Refund**
- On the payment screen, the original payment method (e.g., Visa card) will be selected automatically.
- **Note**: You do not need to re-enter the credit card number; the system will handle this automatically.
5. **Refund Rules for Multiple Transactions**
- If the classes being dropped were paid for in separate transactions, process each drop separately.
- Each registration is attached to a specific purchase transaction, ensuring refunds are credited to the correct payment method.
- Refunds cannot exceed the amount of the original purchase.
- If multiple classes purchased separately are refunded in a single transaction, the system may try to refund the full amount to the first credit card it finds, which could exceed the original purchase amount.
6. **Post Tuition as Account Credit (Optional)**
- Instead of refunding the credit card, you can apply the tuition as a **credit** to the student’s account.
- Select **Post To Account** as the checkout method.
