## About Custom User Groups Custom User Groups allow you to organize users into specific categories or groups, facilitating easier management and assignment of roles, permissions, or tasks. --- ## Adding a User to a Custom Group Creating a custom group and adding a user to it can both be done from the same screen. You can start the process from one of two places: 1. **From a List of Names**: - Right-click on the name of the person you wish to add to a group. - Select **Add to Custom Group** from the context menu. - This option is shown in the screenshot below. ![](https://ravencsi.atlassian.net/wiki/download/attachments/327910/Nmae-popup.jpg?version=1&modificationDate=1403789614000&cacheVersion=1&api=v2) 1. **From the Group Icon**: - Click on the group icon located on the main account screen. - This will also take you to the Custom Group screen. ![](https://ravencsi.atlassian.net/wiki/download/attachments/327910/account_group.jpg?version=1&modificationDate=1403789614000&cacheVersion=1&api=v2) Once you initiate the process through either method, the **Custom Group Screen** will appear. This screen: - Lists all existing groups. - Displays a note at the top if the selected user already belongs to any custom groups. Click on the **"Create a New Group"** panel label. 2. A section will expand, allowing you to input details for the group: - **Group Name**: Enter a name for the group. - **Group Type**: Indicate the type of group (optional). - **Description**: Add a description of the group (optional). 3. Click **Save** once you have entered the details. The new group will now appear in the selection list. 4. Select the group by clicking on it once. The selected group will be highlighted with a light blue background. Click on the group you want to edit from the list on the left. The group members will load in the list on the right. - Note: Loading may take a few seconds for large groups. 2. To make changes: - **Remove the Entire Group**: Highlight the group name on the left and click **Remove Selected Group**. - **Remove Individual Members**: - Select the member(s) you wish to remove in the list on the right.
